Fabricae is a collaboration/installation inspired by conversations about the work of 19th century textile designer May Morris. Annie Coggan and Janis Stemmermann work with a textile print created directly from nature, rethinking its application to intuitive, sculptural, functioning forms. Using Janis’ firewood block print on canvas as a starting point, Annie created two chairs inspired by the tree the print was made from.
The exhibition will be on view at Russell Janis through February 28, viewable from the sidewalk or by appointment.
